How to Identify your IP Address:
To find out what your IP address is, use the
method appropriate to your version of Windows.
Windows 95,
Windows 98,
Windows Millenium Edition (Me)
On the Windows Start menu, click Run .
In the Open box, type Winipcfg.exe and then click OK
.
Your IP address appears in the IP Address box.
Windows NT
On the Windows Start menu, point to Programs , and then
click Command Prompt .
At the command prompt, type ipconfig.exe and press ENTER.
Your IP address appears.
Windows 2000
On the Windows Start menu, point to Programs , point to
Accessories , and then click Command Prompt .
At the command-prompt, type ipconfig.exe and then press ENTER.
Your IP address appears.
Windows XP
On the Windows Start menu, point to All Programs , point to
Accessories , and then click Command Prompt .
At the command-prompt, type ipconfig.exe and then press ENTER.
Your IP address appears.
NOTE : Regardless of
which operating system you are using, if you use dynamic IP addressing and you
are not currently connected to either your network or the Internet, you may not
see an address in the IP Address box, or it may be displayed as 0.0.0.0. In this
case, you can still access the TCP/IP networking functionality by referring to
the default local host by using either the Domain Name System (DNS) name of
localhost or the default IP Address (127.0.0.1).
