We had missed our annual camping trip last year as we were very busy with the girls activites and weather didn't cooperate when we had the chance to get away. I was bound and determined to get our camping trip in this year. We had decided not go in the spring so fall was it. We usually avoid the heat of the summer. The previous weekend we had traveled to Winfield Kansas for our annual family gathering and Walnut Valley Festival . I had been watching the weather in Bonn Terre Missouri for several days and it looked like it was going to be a nice weekend to go camping: a little rain Friday night but that was it.

I took the day off Friday and headed down about mid-morning. It has stopped raining at our home.

Day 1 - Friday 10/10/2003

Rain, missed turn birthday cake for Grandma fire

Day 2 - Saturday 10/11/2003

breakfast new campsite, other campground, friend found 29 moved to new camp fish hatchery 3pm hike ride the duck, closed dinner Italian acrobats of china

Day 3 - Sunday 10/12/2003

birthday cake and toast for breakfast traffic jam getting to ducks, back way in nice duck ride, see lots of sites: lake, hatchery, mountain, cap tex Katie wet twice, once from squit gum once from plunge into lake load up and leave for stl stop at highway J for gas and snacks lunch and McDs. home about 5:25pm girls to bonfire for Girl Scouts
